College for Seniors Committee

College for Seniors, the largest program in the College for Seniors Committee 2012North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement, is governed by the Co-Chairs of the College for Seniors (volunteer positions approved by the general membership of NCCCR), the various chairs of each subcommittee of CFS (selected by the Co-Chairs of CFS), and the Director of the College for Seniors.

Since the College for Seniors is the largest program in the Center, both Co-Chairs sit on the Center Steering Council, each having a separate vote on matters brought before the Steering Council.

College for Seniors Committee responsibilities encompass:

  • College for Seniors (CFS): Insures a successful CFS program by providing quality education for its participants. Specifically, CFS Committee:
  • Develops and evaluates annual goals and objectives for the CFS program in accordance with the NCCCR annual goals and objectives.
  • Plans, develops and evaluates the CFS curriculum per CFS goals and objectives including educational programs, e.g. workshops, which are outside the normal CFS course structure.
  • Recruits, supports, evaluates and develops CFS faculty.
  • Conducts market research and enrollment analysis for evaluation and future
  • planning.
  • With the assistance of the Membership Committee, integrates and orients new members into NCCCR
  • Plans and organizes faculty appreciation.
  • Cooperates with the CSC in collaborative activities with other Lifelong Learning Institutes (LLIs.)
  • Coordinates curriculum and schedules with other Center programs.
