Life Transitions Committee

The Life Transitions Committee coordinates existing programs and engages in new efforts that address the transition adults face in mid and later life. Programs impacted by this committee include:

  • Creative Retirement Exploration Weekend (CREW)  This program is in its 20th year and conducted over every Memorial Day weekend for those considering relocation as a retirement option.
  • Paths to Creative Retirement (PATHS)  This interactive, non-financial workshop is for pre-retirees. It examines issues like whether to retire, psychological, emotional and partnership issues of retirement, decision making and an begins an action plan.
  • Institute for the Future of Retirement (IFR)  This is NCCCR’s applied research endeavor to help individuals navigate mid-life transitions to effectively formulate and implement individual plans. Results of this new effort will be used to both improve existing and new programs that can optimize the personal development and social contribution of people in life’s second half.
