Membership Committee

Membership Committee recruits and retains members though a variety of membership events, activities, and volunteering opportunities that help to build the Reuter Center community. Membership Committee works to promote and enhance membership benefits.

On-going events and activities include:

• Fab Friday lecture series: Provides lunch and learn opportunities for Center members and the public.
• Special Events and Socials: Provides opportunities for members and to learn, laugh and enjoy together. Many of these events are open to the public.
• Special Interest Groups: Provides and opportunities for members to pursue interests with like-minded Center members.
• Artists & Writers Quarterly: Provides a venue for Center members to share their writing and artwork.
• Performance Groups: Provides a way for Center members to enjoy performing and provide goodwill outreach to communities and groups.
• Volunteering: Provides members with information about volunteer opportunities at the Reuter Center and provides committee chairpersons with an avenue for connecting with the expertise and interest of Center members.

Subcommittees comprised of Center members and staff liaison plan, implement and evaluate programs and projects including:

• New Member Orientation: Plans, implements and evaluates the orientation for new members three times each year.  Contact Linda Bushar lindabushar@yahoo.com
• Events: Plans and implements lunch-and-learn series during the fall, winter and spring terms which are part of the Fabulous Fridays events. This sub-committee also books special events that are held at various times of the year. Contact: Leanna Preston lpreston@unca.edu

• Special Interest Groups: Oversees the formation and operation of special interest groups (SIGs) which are member-led interest groups.  Contact Linda Macfarlane linrosemac@email.com
• Artists & Writers Quarterly: Oversees the online publication of members’ writing and artwork. Work includes selection of winners and preparation of materials for publication.  Contact Vera Mulnix veramm@bellsouth.net.
