Workshop FAQ
Would you like to teach your own workshop?
Here’s how it works.
Workshops are intended to be an intensive learning experience for intermediate to advanced topics. We will also consider workshops at the beginner level, if the topic is not taught in our College for Seniors program. Here is a link to the workshops in the current academic term. Click Here This will give you some idea about our workshops. We typically conduct about 20 workshops annually.
Workshops are generally conducted on the weekends and can be 2-3 hours, 1 day to 2 1/2 days in length. Occasionally a workshop might extend over two weekends. Your workshop teaching outline should reflect the timeframe.
We typically pay instructors $40/contact-hour and membership in NCCCR is not required.
Participants are charged a fee to take a workshop. The fee is determined by various cost factors, potential enrollment and competitive factors. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop.
Workshops are open to the general public and membership in NCCCR is not required.
We work with the instructor to design an advertising program to let the NCCCR members and the general public know about your workshop. The Workshop Committee handles advertising.
Click download the Workshop Proposal Form. Please complete the form and return to NCCCR Workshop Committee via email at ncccr@unca.edu.
The Committee will review your proposal and may contact you to schedule an interview. We will notify you about the acceptance or rejection of your proposal in a timely manner.
If you would like additional information or have questions, please contact Ann Cadle at the NCCCR at 828.251.6384 or acadle@unca.edu
Thank you for your interest in the Workshop Program at the NC Center for Creative Retirement.
